A study tour was arranged to AWAN SPORTS Sialkot on January 21, 2012 to show the practical applications of textiles and high performance fibers in sports sector. Mr. Ghazanfar Awan the technical director of the group warmly welcomed and briefed about the process and products. Dr.Sarwar Rana, Convener Technical Textiles Society and few other faculty members accompanied us to the unit.

A technical lecture was arranged for the general awareness about students on the topic of “technical lecture on Non Woven Techniques & Scope for Pakistan” on July 11, 2011 at 2:30pm in University Auditorium. A campaign for taping majority of students was adopted few days before the seminar was arranged so that a handsome number of audiences could be reached. Students showed up in large numbers. The program was appreciated by the faculty members. Worthy convener of Technical textiles Society Dr. M. Rana Sarwar , HOD of Textile Chemistry, Dr. Rashid, Mr. Abdul Jabbar, Mr.Abdul Moqeet & Mr. Bilal Qadir attended the lecture. The response of audience was phenomenal and extremely encouraging. Technical Textiles Society arranged an industrial visit Non Woven Industry, Lahore for the members of society.
The members lead by a faculty member reached the unit at 11:30 AM. The students were provided a complete overview of the Industry.
There are three techniques of non woven they are working with, these include Felting, Tufting and Stitch Bonding. This visit not only awared us about the emerging demands of Non woven but also helped to solidify the concepts related to this field.
At the end the students were entertained with refreshments.

A study visit of Fiber Craft Industry lahore was arranged by the society on June 11, 2011, Fiber Craft Industry Lahore was basically a glass fiber working industry .There were a plethora of products of fiber glass they were working with, these include sheds ,wind mill blades ,chairs and doors. This tour was espicially helpfull in providing the technical know how about the glass fiber crafting. It also gave us tangible evidence that fiber glass has replaced the steel and other heavy elements in numerous products.
Formal Meeting on Promotion of Technical Textiles In Pakistan

On June 06, 2011 a formal meeting b/w industrialists,educationists,faculty member and students of NTU was held in confer
ence room, National Textile University. The main focus of this meeting was to discuss the possibilities to focus to promote technical textiles in Pakistan.
Sectors on which pakistan should focus was discussed thoroughly and the products also. Meeting was concluded with positive results. It was decide to meet again after 2 months with the assigned projects progress.
